From the bazaars to the grand houses of the city, Kashan is a city of arches. This city in the Isfahan province of Iran served as the inspiration for the Kashan boards.
This piece is made entirely by hand using responsibly and locally sourced Sheesham or Indian Rosewood (Dalbergia sissoo) which is seasoned over a period of time using traditional methods. The piece is then hand cut by the artisans by carefully selecting the piece that would best celebrate the grains in the wood. The piece is then sanded and polished using an edible linseed oil before it is left to dry naturally. Each piece is worked on over a period of days.
