Bika Vase

This piece is made entirely by hand using responsibly and locally sourced Sheesham or Indian Rosewood (Dalbergia sissoo) which is seasoned over a period of time using traditional methods. The piece is then hand turned on a lathe machine. Once the form has been developed the artisans, using hand tools, begins to scoop out the wood to create the desired pattern. The piece is then sanded and polished using an edible linseed oil before it is left to dry naturally. Each piece is worked on over a period of days.
